Whirlpool galaxy M51

Image of the Whirlpool galaxy M51 taken with my 10" f/3.9 Orion astrograph supplied by SCSAstro .
Exposure times of about 120 sec on my unguided LXD75 GEM . Camera was canon 1000D modified (+astronomik clip in filter)
taken on 28/12/11
M51 is a classic face - on (interacting) spiral galaxy (Ursa Major)
